Here at team BLAAX, we're always on the go! During our travels we've managed to pick up some handy hints when it comes to the best local coffee hot spots! In South Australia they take their coffee pretty seriously, and so we’ve taken special care, and found the 5 best spots from all parts of the city.
City - Fair Espresso | Conveniently located in two inner city locations – James Place (Rundle Mall) and the Central Markets, Fair Espresso do exactly what is says on the label. Specialising in fair trade organic coffee, their James Place location was named as Fair Trade Café of the year in 2013. Now you can happily enjoy delicious coffee guilt free, and as a bonus – they offer a free extra shot on Mondays!
North - The Coffee Barun | Nestled in around the big supermarkets of Sefton and Northpark Plaza is this little gem. Like something out of a science lab The Coffee Barun is a local family business that specialises in cold drip coffee. The location makes it perfect, for a quick fix on the way into work, or a quick breakfast whilst shopping.
South - Gingers Coffee Studio | Full of bright colours and ill-fitting furniture, this retro inspired diner is anything but vintage. The thoroughly modern menu is sophisticated but moreish, the coffee is to die for and served generously. Located on Goodwood road just over the tram line, entering is a just like entering your grandparent’s house – minus the mothball smell.
East - E for Ethel | Hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne St, E for Ethel is what you expect the home of an etsy seller to look like. Grinding only De Groot beans, E for Ethel was voted the 2nd best coffee in Australia in 2016. This colourful café suits any and all customers offering vegetarian, vegan, lactose free, and raw options. But they don’t discriminate; you can also happily munch on bacon and eggs whilst sipping your latte.
West - Patio Coffee Roasters | You thought you couldn’t get better than the second best coffee in Australia? How about the best? As of December 2017, Patio Coffee Roasters located in Glandore was awarded a gold medal in the hotly contested ‘milky’ category at the Golden Bean contest in NSW, as well as 5 other medals in different categories! What’s the secret you ask? They have all their own blends curated through careful collaborations with micro lot farms and local collaborators.
